Verify your site on Bing Webmaster Tools

Doesn't offer as many tools as Google webmaster tools, but still gives you a general idea how Bing is viewing your site.  Please follow directions carefully!

1.  Sign Up for Bing Webmaster tools.  http://bing.com/webmaster

2.  Add your site and choose the meta validation method.  You should be given a verification code that looks like this:

3  Copy the code below and paste it into the keywords area, under SEO in page properties on your homepage (default.aspx):
 
%22 /%3E%3Cmeta name=%22msvalidate.01%22 content=%22
 
Note:  Make sure you paste the code at the END of any keywords!
 
5.  Now, copy the just the ID in the Bing verification code and paste it at the end of the code that you pasted in the keywords are, your final result should look like this:
 
%22 /%3E%3Cmeta name=%22msvalidate.01%22 content=%22874FFE456A6B4D42DC8493324B5
 
Note:  The ID is string of numbers and letters inside of the content tag.  DO NOT use any other part of the code that Bing provides!

6.  Go back to Bing Webmaster tools and verify.

Note:  If it doesn't work, view your page, make sure there is no code showing at the top.  Also right click on the page, view source, and look at the meta tags (near the top).  The validation tag should look like the original Bing meta tag:
